Freedom in NOT Sharing Your Creations
It's too easy to press buttons these days - post, publish, go live. It's actually quite nerve-wracking. "I haven't put in enough practice!" "My work is not that good yet!" or "It's not my best work!" Sometimes I feel like I'm just faking it till I make it but by letting nature take its course, I end up desiring to show my REAL values and with enough practice, I want to deliver and present myself. I, although anxious, eventually want to post, publish and go live. When the time comes for me to do this, a more confident and relatable individual can step out in front of the people that I actually care about and people who can care about what I have to say.
It's stress-free to create whatever I want, whenever I want for nobody but myself. My work can look ugly, my work can look great, and with little to no feedback I can worry less about how my work needs to impress somebody and just enjoy making what looks cool.
However, once I started to share my hobbies and even talents with others, then a whole new dimension opens up that pushes me to do more with those talents.
While we still haven't pressed publish, practicing the craft of creating whatever the thing that we said that were going to create. It could be a TikTok, a Youtube video, a documentary, a blog post, whatever! One of the best times to have started practicing this stuff was like 10 years ago in your grade school days when we had less responsibilities to take up our time. However, the next best time to practice this stuff is now, when we have all the means to share our work in such an easy and accessible way, and connect with other people around the world who have the same passion as you and can collaborate with you and bring your work up.
Yes, there is freedom when you spend time enjoying and investing time in your craft to an audience of one, but eventually there will be a time when you look for deeper impact beyond yourself. Until that desire is born, don’t inhibit or doubt yourself, but continue to be free to explore, discover and be the creative that you want to be.
